Puzzles, puzzles everywhere!
I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to store my children’s puzzles for years! Boxed puzzles take up so much space and wooden puzzles are difficult for my little ones to pull out when they are stacked on top of each other.
I took some time this summer to reorganize a closet in our home and used it as an opportunity to tackle our puzzle problem as well! Here is what I came up with.
I used four file trays to stack wooden puzzles. I was able to get 3 or 4 puzzles per tray (depending on their thickness).
I dumped the pieces from the boxed puzzles into zip lock bags, then cut out all the pictures that are on the lids of the puzzle boxes and added those to each bag. Putting the puzzle pieces in zip lock bags saved me a lot of space!
I found an old wire shelf that I placed larger wooden puzzles on top of and used the lower shelf to store boxed puzzles in zip lock bags.
Now that our puzzles are organized, my three year old is having a much easier time pulling puzzles out and putting them back in the correct spot without loosing any pieces! Yeah!
