It’s time for another homeschool year. Here are my 7th grade homeschool curriculum choices for the 2017-2018 school year. Curious about what I’m using in other grades this year? I have a 1st grader, 3rd grader and 5th grader as well.

7th Grade Homeschool Curriculum Choices
LifePac Bible 6
LifePac Bible contains 10 units that the student works through independently. My daughter did the first 4 units last year. She worked at a slower pace because she was so fascinated with what she was learning about that she wanted to read entire chapters from Scripture instead of the selected passages. I wasn’t going to discourage that! So, this year she will continue to work through LifePace Bible 6.
The Mystery of History Volume 4
My 7th grader is wrapping up her chronological history study with The Mystery of History volume 4. She has learned so much with this curriculum and is excited to use it one more year. You can read my full review of The Mystery of History here.
BJU Press Life Science
This year my 7th grader will be trying BJU Press materials including their Life Science curriculumLife Science curriculum. She is doing this through their Distance Learning online program. You can find out more about BJU Press Distance Learning here.
Math U See: Zeta
It’s time to delve into decimals and percents with Math-U-See. This year she will be using the Zeta level. I absolutely love Math-U-See. You can read my review and watch me share more about why I like this curriculum so much.
BJU Press English 6
I know my daughter is in 7th grade but I really liked what I saw in the BJU Press English 6 curriculum so I decided to go with English 6 instead of Writing and Grammar 7. We have both curriculums so we can switch if needed. She will be doing this through the BJU Press Distance Learning online program as well.
BJU Press Explorations in Literature
I am so excited about this one! My daughter reads often but I rarely have time to read the same books as her let alone have a discussion about them. That’s why I’m thrilled to have her learn literary concepts with Explorations in Literature and even watch literature discussion groups in the Distance Learning Online program that goes with this curriculum.
Spell to Write and Read Level E
We will be wrapping up her spelling lessons this year with our favorite spelling program. This year we will be using the new lesson plans that go along with SWR. My 7th grader will be working through Level E with her 5th grade sister.
BJU Press Vocabulary Level A
For a little extra vocabulary review, we will be trying out BJU Press Vocabulary Level A. It looks like something she can work through on her own. That’s a plus when you have 7 children!
You can watch me share my 7th grade homeschool curriculum choices on my YouTube channel.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the Explorations in Literature 7! I’ve heard a few people say its kind of dark, but my son would actually enjoy heavier themes.

Hi Heather. My daughter really enjoyed Explorations in Literature 7. There were some readings that had heavier topics but I thought it was all appropriate for her age and allowed her to think through these topics from the lens of Scripture.
