Math Lessons for a Living Education is an elementary math curriculum that uses the Charlotte Mason method. Children learn math concepts, along with Christian values, as they read stories about two children named Charlie and Charlotte.
It’s a unique approach to teaching math that only takes a few minutes. No teacher’s manual is needed, as the student learns from reading the stories. A suggested daily scheduled is included in the front of each workbook.

I came across this program at Mardel’s the other day and couldn’t put it down. Thinking about switching my rising 6th grader from Saxon next year. I love Saxon but I’m learning that it’s not suiting her learning style. I love the stories and narration aspects of this program. Makes me a little nervous because it’s so new and Saxon is, well…Saxon, but I’m definitely intrigued. Thanks for the review. Would love an update at some point. 🙂

I’m not sure how many levels MLFLE has. I thought it was only elementary level. I ended up sticking with our Math-U-See for most of my kids because it’s what I am familiar with and have used for so many years. I also have a few kids doing BJU Press Distance Learning math to help minimize my time having to teach. All that to say, I still really liked MLFLE. I might consider it again in years to come but for now we are not using it. So many great curricula to choose from which can be a blessing and a struggle for us homeschool moms all at the same time. Ha!
