This past year has been hard for my family. We never could have imagined the challenges that we would face. However, God knew not only what we would face but what we would need to homeschool through hardship.
We needed time to learn and grow together as a family. We needed to set our eyes on who God is and gain a heart for the lost. We needed opportunities to discuss topics from a biblical worldview. And that is exactly what we were able to do while using A Heart 4 You: China from Cornerstone Curriculum.
A Heart 4 You: China
We spent hours reading great literature together, studying Bible passages, and learning how a person’s heart and worldview shapes so many aspects of their life. We also learned about China’s history, geography, language and culture through books, videos and activities.
While the trials of life swirled around us, I was blessed to know that my children were continuing to learn and grow in their knowledge of Bible, history, geography, handwriting and biblical worldview skills.
A Heart 4 You: China was easy to implement in my home with its flexible, yet detailed, lesson plans. I could open up the teacher’s manual where I left off and follow the detailed plans. We could do as much or as little as we wanted on any given day. There were plenty of convenient places to stop in the lesson plans when we needed to move on to something else and I never had any trouble picking up where we left off.
This curriculum was just what we need this past school year. It allowed us to continue homeschooling through trials while growing closer to each other and to God.

Cornerstone Curriculum
A Heart 4 You: China is one of the many excellent courses offered through Cornerstone Curriculum. I love that Cornerstone Curriculum’s mission is to help parents give their kids a biblical worldview education so that kids know why they believe what they believe and are able to stand firm in the culture.
I have used (and loved) some of their curriculum for upper grades as well. You might want to check out Starting Points and Worldviews of the Western Word if you are looking for a literature based, worldview curriculum for the middle school and high school years.

Disclosure: This curriculum was sent to me for free in exchange for my honest review.

I am considering this with rising 4th and 6th grade girls. Did you complete the whole year worth and did you finish “on time”? Would you still recommend it? Did your kids get tired of the workbook pages?
Janelle Knutson says
Hi Nicole! We completed the curriculum and I still recommend it! I did adapt the curriculum throughout the year as I usually do with any curriculum. There were a few sections the kids really enjoyed learning about so we slowed down, added in more books, activities, videos etc and just enjoyed learning. Then there were sections that weren’t as interesting to them so we moved more quickly through those sections and skipped over some things.
