Bible Resources for Kids
My little ones have enjoyed reading The Big Picture Story Bible over and over again. It’s an excellent introduction to the major stories of the Bible and how they all point to the Savior, Jesus Christ.
This past summer, we discovered The 10 Minute Bible Journey from Master Books. It works great as a group read aloud or an individual Bible study for kids.
My upper elementary age kids have enjoyed working through the Exploring the Bible book. It’s a Bible reading plan for kids ages 6 to 12. I shared more about it in this video.
During our morning lessons together, my kids and I are learning the various names of God with God’s Names by Sally Michael. I love that it includes a Bible story to emphasize a particular aspect of God’s character and name.
My kids and I have also been enjoying the Books of the Bible Flashcards from Answers in Genesis. There is a card for each of the 66 books of the Bible plus one card for the 400 years of silence between the Old and New Testaments. Each card contains a picture on one side and helpful information about each book of the Bible on the back including the author, date, key people, a short summary of the book, and what the book shows us about God. We are also making good use of the coloring pages that go along with the flashcards. (Sold separately here or download for free here.)
Finally, we are still working our way through the Abeka Flash-a-Card series during lunch. I love the beautiful illustrations that I can use with the provided lessons or use as I read straight from the Bible.
