Today we are starting up our study of the New England states with the States and Capitals curriculum from Memoria Press. We are using this curriculum during our group time together each morning. Only 3 of my kids are filling out the workbook but all 6 kids are participating in the short lessons that we are doing 2 to 3 times a week.
Today we looked at a map and pointed out all six New England states. Then we read some fun facts about Maine, filled out our workbook page about Maine and recited the state and capital using the flashcards that were included.
It has been so easy to implement during our morning time together. I purchased the lesson plans so it is open-and-go with no prep work for me. It is taking us around 10 minutes, 2 to 3 times a week, to complete the lessons.
I love the simplicity of the curriculum. The kids are enjoying the group learning. We are all learning lots of fun facts and improving our memorization of the states and capitals.
