This upcoming school year I will have two high school students to homeschool (along with a middle schooler and three elementary age kids.) Here is a look at my high school curriculum choices for my 9th and 11th grade daughters.
High School Curriculum Choices for 9th Grade
Below you will see everything that my 9th grade student will be taking this coming school year. Under each subject heading I have included the course title that will go on her transcript, the curriculum we will be using, as well as the credit that will be given for each course.
English

- Curriculum:
- Pride and Prejudice Literature Guide (Memoria Press)
- Read and analyze at least 4 additional titles from various genres.
History/Social Science
I gave my 9th grader several options for history/social science this year, and she chose BJU Press Distance Learning Cultural Geography. The BJU Distance Learning program has been a huge hit in our home over the years and the online option makes grading and record keeping so easy!

Hi Janelle,
I have just found your website and find the posts encouraging, thank you.
If you are able to offer your wisdom, please could you answer my question.
I notice you have used Master Books for a few subjects, my daughter has looked at Applied engineering and mentioned that she would like to use it, so my thinking was to put it in as a science for her grd 9 year – however in saying this if I see the workload for physical science my son has with doing Apologia then Master Books seems insufficient to qualify as a full year credit….
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
