This year I have two high school students to homeschool (along with two middle schoolers and two elementary age kids.) Here is a look at what my tenth grader is taking her sophomore year.
Tenth Grade Homeschool Curriculum Choices
Below you will see everything that my tenth grade student is taking this year. Under each subject heading I have included the course title that will go on her transcript, the curriculum we will be using, as well as the credit that will be given for each course.
English
- Course Title: American Literature and Composition

For science, we decided to go with an anatomy and physiology course. We chose to use the two year curriculum from Master Books but I am altering it to make it fit into a one-year course.

Electives
My tenth grader will be taking two different full year elective courses plus a half credit music theory course. The first course is a Biblical counseling course for teens offered through ACBC (Association of Certified Biblical Counselors).

The second full year course that she is taking is a free Biblical Hebrew course taught by Dr. William Barrick at the Master’s Seminary.

The last elective she is taking is a one semester course in music theory. We are using several different resources and opportunities to get this 1/2 credit in, including theory instruction with her piano lessons and flute lessons as well as utilizing a music theory course from Master Books Academy.

My tenth grader will be joining us in our morning basket and Bible time. She will also be participating in some extra-curricular activities and a part-time job.
