I am still struggling with my health. I have many unexplained symptoms and am extremely fatigued causing me to spend most of the day in bed. Any level of exertion (even sitting up in a chair or talking) exacerbates my symptoms. Right now, I only leave my home for church on Sunday. My doctors have all agreed that I have exhausted the expertise of the doctors here in Idaho and have suggested I seek evaluation and treatment at a university or research hospital (out of state). For now, all medical appointments have been put on hold since our insurance has ended and my husband is currently unemployed.
Many of you have asked about the device that was placed in my heart and a possible allergy to the metal. It has been confirmed, through two separate tests, that I am allergic to nickel and the device does contain nickel. Doctors here in Idaho are not sure what effect the nickel is having on my body or what the best option is for treatment. These are things we will have to look into in the future.
Even with these challenges, I can rejoice in the gift of salvation and the hope of eternity with Christ. The truth of God’s Word and the encouragement of fellow believers continues to sustain me and my family through these challenges.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:3-9
