Do you have any thoughts about high school math outside of algebra, geometry, pre-calc? Like maybe finance or economics (does that file under math?)?
Answer
Economics is considered a social science and is usually taken during a teens senior year of high school. Most economic courses are a semester long and are often paired with a one semester American government course.
If you are looking for a more practical math course for your student then you might consider a consumer math, personal finance, or financial stewardship course. Here are a few recommendations. Math-U-See has a stewardship course that focusing on practical principles for finances from a biblical worldview. BJU Press offers an excellent consumer math course that covers skills students will need to handle their personal finances. This course is also from a biblical worldview. Dave Ramsey also offers a high school curriculum to help students with personal finance. All of these are excellent options.
